Is digital painting really PAINTING?

Lately, I’ve been talking to people about my work more. People who don’t necessarily know how digital art works. I discovered that a lot of them don’t know that digital painting is just that: painting, but with a digital pen and a screen instead of a paintbrush and canvas.

The pieces digital painters make are hand-made and go through most of the processes that traditional painters also go through: from sketch, to a first lay-in of color, to refinement until the painting is done.

We all know a picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ve uploaded a (sped-up) process timelapse from start to finish of one of my paintings. You can find it on Twitter or Instagram. Or take a look below!
